Course Abstract

This five day course sets out how strategy is developed and enhanced by the use of operational delivery. It looks at how operations are organised and designed and considers the best way of ensuring they align with the needs of the organisation and staff involved.

As well as considering business improvement approaches such as Six Sigma and Total Quality the course will also consider process and project control and management and how method statements can be used to set out new work, ensure it is a proper fit with reorganisation objectives and direction and is effective.

Aims and Objectives

Students will develop capability to prepare Method Statements, improve strategic fit of oeprational work and enhance quality within Manaegement Systems

At the end of the course the student/participant will be able to:

  • Describe the concept of Planning strategy and its properties
  • Discuss the role of Vision and Mission in strategy
  • Develop the concept of Priority in business planning
  • Set targets for a task, process, project or methodology
  • Establish the end of delivering a task, process, project or methodology
  • Evaluate and identify results for a task, process, project or methodology
  • Plan Operational programmes of action
  • Implement Plans operational
  • Forecast the constraints and develop plans to avoid
  • Record actions applied

Writing a method Statement

Introduction to Managing Operations
