DescriptionMarc Davis Tech-IOSH Lecturer in Occupational Health and Safety and Police Operations. Marc’s 30 years policing experience includes leading front-line teams in a number of situations, as well as extensive international experience. Marc retired from the Metropolitan Police as an Inspector with over 30 years of operational and community policing experience. During that time he worked in various roles, many as a team manager and leader. He has an extensive experience of dealing with incidents ranging from minor accidents through to fatal accidents (both road related and in the workplace), murder scenes and live firearms incidents. He was public order trained for over 25 years and has broad experience of policing public order events, both planned and spontaneous. Marc holds a National ‘Occupational Health and Safety’ qualification and is currently a Technical member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (Tech-IOSH). He is a Health & Safety IOSH approved trainer and also holds a National Training qualification.He also has a diploma with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). Marc was responsible for developing various sports-based youth engagement and diversionary programmes working with various strategic partners including The Premier League, The FA, Premiership Rugby, The RFU, The English Cricket Board and Active Communities. These programmes were developed to target hard to reach young people growing up in challenging communities. He also has overseas experience working with Police Forces in India, Brazil, Indonesia, Trinidad & Tobago and Norway. Marc has delivered courses in the UK and Abu Dhabi developing Community Policing Skills andon basic Incident Management, Health & Safety, Risk Assessment procedures and Risk Management.
