DescriptionMark Jackson is an experienced ex-senior detective and Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) of the Metropolitan Police Service, with many years of varied experience in tackling serious and organised crime. He has particular expertise within both reactive and proactive crime management and has led a number of high profile and complex investigations. He has a proven record of achievement both internally and externally to the MPS, having worked with a wide range of partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors to drive innovative programmes focused upon supporting victims, improving criminal justice processes, and improving public confidence and reduction of crime. At a strategic level, Mark has contributed to national policy development within the investigation of serious and organised crime. His work is widely recognised at an international level with a number of published articles, and he has participated in leading academic research within the area of homicide. Following his career with the MPS, Mark sought new and challenging roles. Firstly, within the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency as Head of Enforcement. Leading the UK’s response to criminal enforcement within the pharmaceutical sphere working across the UK, Europe and globally. More recently as the Head of Counter Fraud for Christian Aid with responsibilities around corruption, bribery and terrorist legislation. Internationally Mark has extensive experience working with a wide range of organisations including Interpol, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, World Health Organisation and with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office as a deployable civilian expert. This work has supported capacity building, training and coordinated global criminal enforcement.
