This five day course provides officers with an understanding of critical infrastructure related safety and security systems and the equipment and processes that need to be considered to ensure community safety and security.
This course will explore the main principles of facility and infrastructure security. It will identify the most effective emergency management measures to put in place ensuring the safety and security of all individuals; assess the effectiveness of existing procedures; identify key stakeholders who must be involved in safety and security; and develop strategies to address gaps.
Aims and Objectives
Students will develop a sense of the risks, factors and methods involved in securing critical infrastructure
At the end of the course the student/participant will be able to:
- The definition of Infrastructure, the risks that endanger it and the assisting factors and factors in securing infrastructure.
- The rules of securing and guarding infrastructure
- How the use of information technology and police dogs can be used to secure and guard infrastructure
- The methods of defending an infrastructure from Armed Assault
