DescriptionKaren Duckworth BA (Hons) Lecturer Sporting Events and Public Order, Operations Manager, London Policing College Karen has 32 years of experience of policing London with a varied and interesting career that spans central London as well as outer London areas. As Police Operations Lead at Richmond-Upon-Thames Borough, Karen had responsibility for the review and implementation of policing plans for all events at the Rugby Football Union (RFU) stadium (Twickenham). She worked closely with RFU and other strategic Partners to use new legislation reviewing outcomes for training and learning delivery. Karen performed the role of Silver match commander at RFU events and was key in planning and delivering the local response to the Olympic cycling events being held in West London. As the lead for Neighbourhood Policing and Change manager in Westminster, Karen was responsible for the delivery of the new area transformation plan 2018/19. Karen was instrumental in building and maintaining strong relationships with Community Safety Leads and Council Leaders across three busy merging Boroughs to ensure that change was delivered effectively, crime didn’t increase, and community and Partner needs were best met. Karen was the Partnership Lead, always looking at ways to inspire colleagues to be ingenious and different in order to find new and effective ways of solving problems, prevent crime and build lasting community engagement. Karen was awarded a BA (Hons) for Crowd Safety and Risk Management which she has used to deliver positive changes to policing in modern times. She has also successfully completed her NEBOSH training which is a high-level health and safety training qualification. Karen achieved the Level 4 Spectator Safety management qualification and is up to date with relevant legislation.
