Simon has over 35 years of policing experience in the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), London, a chief officer, Association of Chief Police Officers (now National Police Chief Council) rank, for many years. He is experienced in investigation, frontline policing, and leading major crime enquiries. Simon was involved in a several high-profile operations and the delivery of various national projects. Simon has held the role of Chief Officer lead for Homicide and Serious Sexual Assaults.
Simon is delivering strategic leadership training to senior police officers in the UK, as well as working with different levels across the justice sector nationally and internationally (China, USA and UAE.).
Simon represented the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) – a major city police chief’s organisation based in Washington DC – in the design and delivery of the ‘Leadership for Outcomes’ Course within Police Scotland – a cross public sector leadership development course designed around collaborative working. He has taken that experience working on PIP (professionalising Investigations Programme) Level 4 development, on senior leadership programme involving Police Scotland and the FBI and working with the College of Policing to the next level now trains others.
Simon is an Associate with the College of Policing UK, delivering the professional skills element of the Strategic Command Course, designed to equip senior leaders in the service to deal with the investigative element of high profile events and incidents (SCIMITAR).
Simon delivers the Leading Complex Investigations course to senior staff in the Serious Fraud Office (SFO).
